"Everyone always comments on how great toms sound through the CEMC-6's. They are lively, athletic and dynamic in a way few other condenser microphones are on high SPL sources. You know you are doing something right when Tom Brechtlein says, "Wow, what microphones are those?!"

For the 22 47 SE, I kind of cheated and put in NOS RCA tube, making it a 22 47 LE, in effect.
I am fortunate enough to have a small stockpile of these old tubes, and found that the microphone sounds great with either the factory Peluso tube or any number of NOS tubes.
The microphone performs fantastically on vocals, acoustic guitar, cello, saxophone, you name it. It has a rich and warm bottom that isn't hyped, and enough detail and character in the top end to completely avoid any unnecessary processing after the fact. I can't wait to make it a stereo pair!"

"The R 14 is such a great sounding mic. I've used it on vocals, guitar cabs, drum room, violins, as a stereo pair for ensembles, the list goes on. It's a really versatile mic and will take high end EQ boosts really smoothly, without sounding harsh or tinny. I've been using them on guitar cabs lately to get some really great distorted guitar sounds that are extremely full-bodied and present. The R14 is also a great choice on harsh sounding instruments like glockenspiel or trumpet, making them fit into the mix in a much more comfortable way."

The CEMC-6 is as versatile as it gets. Whether they're being used for drum overheads in a live set up or in the studio, the smooth response tames the brittle timbre of any hit-hat or crash all while bringing out the punch of the kick drum & toms but most notably highlighting the warm, natural resonance of a snare drum. Throw a CEMC-6 on an acoustic guitar in the studio & you'll be immediately impressed by the 'true to life' sound that'll come out of your studio monitors on playback. So much so that adding or subtracting EQ will become a thing of the past.

"I can always count on Peluso to match every artist I work with. Tonally they are so close to the originals. The 22 251 is the Vocal mic we use on Sonya Isaacs."

"For vocals I use the P-49 and 22 47 a lot and occasionally the TR 14. I use the P-28s and the P-84s for stereo recording setups sometimes including one of the tube condensers in the middle. The P-28s are my go to mics for acoustic instruments and drum overheads although the P-84s may take over some of these roles. I have used all of the tube condenser mics as room mics for live recordings with great success."
