"Everyone always comments on how great toms sound through the CEMC-6's. They are lively, athletic and dynamic in a way few other condenser microphones are on high SPL sources. You know you are doing something right when Tom Brechtlein says, "Wow, what microphones are those?!"

For the 22 47 SE, I kind of cheated and put in NOS RCA tube, making it a 22 47 LE, in effect.
I am fortunate enough to have a small stockpile of these old tubes, and found that the microphone sounds great with either the factory Peluso tube or any number of NOS tubes.
The microphone performs fantastically on vocals, acoustic guitar, cello, saxophone, you name it. It has a rich and warm bottom that isn't hyped, and enough detail and character in the top end to completely avoid any unnecessary processing after the fact. I can't wait to make it a stereo pair!"

"The R 14 is such a great sounding mic. I've used it on vocals, guitar cabs, drum room, violins, as a stereo pair for ensembles, the list goes on. It's a really versatile mic and will take high end EQ boosts really smoothly, without sounding harsh or tinny. I've been using them on guitar cabs lately to get some really great distorted guitar sounds that are extremely full-bodied and present. The R14 is also a great choice on harsh sounding instruments like glockenspiel or trumpet, making them fit into the mix in a much more comfortable way."

"My Peluso 22 47 SE and one of my pair of 67's. These are absolutely true to the originals, only new. Kind of a "time warp" thing. They sound amazing! They were a big part of this new Aerosmith album I just produced and I plan on them being a big part of everything else I do. Thanks John,"

I think that we had made only three or four videos before I reached out to Peluso Microphone Lab and asked them to be the title sponsor for our series. I was actually pretty shocked when they said yes! Since then, we've worked to earn their trust and to make a series worthy of bearing their name. As I write this, we've posted 75 videos and the series remains one of my favorite creative outlets. The team at Peluso is talented beyond measure and they could not have been more generous and supportive.

On the Recording of Old Yellow Moon:
'I used the P-12 on Rodney Crowell's acoustic guitars throughout, altering the pattern to capture the amount of wood required.
The 22 47 SE's were used constantly on the drums, from Glyn John's classic spread to tom closeups, always modifying the patterns. They seem to like cymbals!'

"My Peluso 2247LE was used to record all of Ben Lee’s vocals and his acoustic guitar. Almost every song was based around a live take of him singing and playing at the same time and the 2247LE was positioned to capture this performance. Have a listen to the album: most songs begin with an intimate vocal and acoustic guitar with no effects. It’s a real showcase for the 22 47 LE microphone! "

'I was hoping that the beautiful custom packaging and Peluso's attention to detail in service would be equalled in their product.
