In the studio or on stage the Peluso P-84's warm, natural and detailed character provides an authentic un-hyped reproduction of a wide variety of sources.
The first phantom powered microphone, the KM 84 remains the standard by which all modern SDC FET pencil microphones are judged. Like the KM 84, the P-84 achieves a balanced output through a generously sized transformer, eliminating interference and distortion. The P-84 is true to its inspiration in capsule and circuit design. With the higher quality available in today's electrical components, we have been able to improve low frequency responsiveness and raise the sound pressure level capacity. The Peluso P-84 brings authentic natural warmth and detail to satisfy the demands of the modern digital recording environment.

Standard 3-pin XLR connector
Omni-directional capsule included in the P-84 kit.
Capsule contact point. The interchangeable capsule design allows you to use capsules with different polar patterns. Omni-directional and cardioid capsules are included. Hyper-cardioid pattern capsule is available for purchase.

Reviews
I also used the P-84 kit on acoustic piano during tracking for the latest Matisyahu record. In this scenario, I'd normally go for a pair of Coles 4038 ribbon mics, but it was fantastic to be able to just throw something on the piano without too much thought and immediately get positive results. Piano is a very particular instrument to present to clients. If you give them something dark and dusty, some people will immediately think it doesn't sound "pro"; with the P-84, you can give them a bright shiny piano, with enough low end to make it feel grand and "expensive." I was thrilled with the results.
